Dr. Melaku Ferede Bishaw is a senior Ethiopian physician and radiologist with over 30 years of service in the healthcare sector. He completed his medical education at Odessa Medical Faculty, advanced clinical training in Endoscopy at Yekatit 12 Hospital, and later specialized in Radiology at Addis Ababa University – Black Lion Hospital.
Throughout his career, Dr. Melaku has served in public hospitals, private clinics, international organizations, and diplomatic institutions, including Yekatit 12 General Hospital,
Betezata General Hospital, Hallelujah General Hospital, the British Embassy in Ethiopia, and Radisson Blu Hotel Addis Ababa, as well as international volunteer and advisory organizations such as VSO, CUSO, AVI, and CAFS.
More than 35 years ago, he founded Silassie Clinic, one of the early private medical clinics in Ethiopia, which served patients for over two decades until its closure due to national urban redevelopment under the Corridor Development Program. Widely respected for his integrity, professionalism, and patient centered care, Dr. Melaku now serves as Founder and Chairman of Blessed Pharmaceuticals PLC, guiding the company with strong medical ethics and a long-term healthcare vision.
